Bonjour, hi! I'm Cara Gerard. I'm a multimedia creator living and working in Quebec, Canada.
My father, an artist and teacher himself, encouraged me to create and explore art from a very young age. I'm thrilled to say my parents still have many of my drawings from these formative years--reminders of the journey I'm on. My dad is a meticulous and playful artist. I delight in those qualities and I try to bring them and many more to the work I do. 
As an artist embracing her neurodiversity, I have many "first loves": illustration, sculpting, watercolor, knitting, crafting, the occasional Shrinky-Dink. I recently began creating zines as a new and dynamic method of artistic expression. They combine so much of what I love: learning and telling stories, capturing moments on a page, finding small (pocket-size?) windows into people's lives. In all my work I am looking for ways to celebrate something—the uniqueness of a subject, its essence.  
You'll see all these forms explored here—and many more, I'm sure, as the spirit and (hyper)focus move me. Just as I center neurodiversity in my artistic process, I also champion it in my community. I'm constantly at work trying to build a world where all minds have room to move.
